You have just found a place which is unique in Bora Bora or maybe even in the whole of French Polynesia. A small hotel on a private island. Just three bungalows on the beach. Lush, tropical vegetation. Crystal waters of the lagoon all around. Peace and quiet. All you hear is splashing of water and the music of sea breeze. You forget all the world and stay enchanted by tranquility and nature. And you do not have to share all this with hundreds other clients

MAI MOANA ISLAND is a private island in the lagoon of Bora Bora… We receive senators, politicians, international stars but also people who love nature like you and me....

Bungalows

All our bungalows are located close to the waterline. In this paradisiac setting completely different from your everyday life, you will however discover all the comfort you need. There is hot water heated by a solar energy system and electricity provided by a generator. The generator works only in the evening between 6.00pm and 10.00pm yet there are battery lights in the bungalows so you can have your light when you need it.

Our bungalows are spacious and consist of a bedroom, a dressing room, a bathroom with hot water and a terrace. They are equipped with a television-set.

. As there are only three bungalows, we can accept maximum six visitors so it is never crowdy or noisy on Mai Moana. Especially that we do not admit children younger than 12 years.

And if the two of you wish to be our only guests without other clients around, choose "the whole island" option.

Meals and drinks...

In the morning we will serve you a breakfast consisting of tea or coffee, fruit juice, bread, butter and jam.

If you have chosen full-board, you will be served a tropical lunch; we call it tropical as it is light and simple - a homemade pizza, a hot sandwich, a salmon tourte... A fruit or a dairy dessert to finish your meal.

A dinner is composed of an entrée, a main dish and a dessert. We serve mainly fish (mahi mahi, tuna or salmon) but also meat and poultry.

The menus are always chosen and prepared by us. We must depend on the provisions available which are often limited. If however you have dietary restrictions and you will let us know that in advance, we will try to take it into account.

We can serve you the most popular aperitifs: whisky, pastis, martini or gin. We have also some wines: a bordeau, a côtes du Rhone, the rosé de Provence, a Muscadet .
If you wish to celebrate something or just have a romantic dinner under the open sky (if the weather is good), you can order a candlelight dinner. It costs only about US$20 more than a standard one but it is an unforgettable experience.

Activities

The nicest thing you can do on Mai Moana is to do nothing. The beach and the lagoon around plus of course enjoying tasty meals fill up the whole day for most of our clients. Yet you can also have a walk to the reef – on foot ! – or paddle around in a kayak that is at your disposal on our motu. And a very rare and interesting activity - watching hermit crabs that live on some motus only and are numerous on our island.

You can also participate in the activities available on Bora Bora such as scuba diving, tour around the island in a pirogue during which you can feed sharks and meet rayas, a helicopter flight above the lagoon, a short yacht cruise, a jeep excursion... All these activities are organized by professionals and are charged separately.   We can, if you wish, organize for you a Tahitian wedding (even if you are already married!) - have a look at the page TAHITIAN WEDDING.
